Fibrous casings allow moisture, air and smoke to penetrate the casings which is great for summer sausages, salami, bolognas and cooked sausages. They have a string tied on one end and must be soaked for 30 minutes prior to use.

These casings are great for summer sausage! Used as directed, the casings expand well with very few air pockets to deal with. I have used these casings for years and have never had one distort or break!
